Tips to NOT Break Your Things When Moving
Published on Saturday, 08 August 2009

Tips to NOT Break Your Things When Moving Fragile! Tips to NOT Break Your Things When Moving Packing is one of the most important factors that make or break a move, as poor packing will result in damage to your stuff during transit. This is especially true with your breakable items, like your dishes and glasses, vases, decorations, and collectibles. Extra care must be taken when packing these items because they are more susceptible to damages and cracks. You should be using sturdy containers and boxes for these items for extra protection. When packing, you should line the bottom of the box or container (if it is a box, make sure that the bottom will not open and is securely taped shut) with padding like Styrofoam or bubble wrap. You then wrap each item in newspaper or bubble wrap. Make sure that the heavier items are at the bottom. After each layer, top it off with cardboard, Styrofoam or bubble warp before you put on a new layer. If your breakables come with their own boxes, the better, as they will serve as extra protection. You should also line the sides with padding so that there will be a cushion during transit, and fill the gaps with packing peanuts. And most importantly, never forget to label your boxes ‘Fragile!' so that your movers know which boxes they need to be extra careful with in handling.
