Tips on How to Pack Table Lamps Properly
Published on Thursday, 21 October 2010

Tips on How to Pack Table Lamps Properly Lamps can be a bit tricky to pack because of its irregular shape. It can also be fragile so you have to be careful when packing lamps. The trick is to have all packing materials ready. You should have a tall box large enough for your lamp. You should, of course, have lots of packing tape, packing paper, bubble wrap and a marker too. Before you start make sure that your hands are clean and dry as well.

Start by removing the shade and the bulb from the lamp. Then wound the cord around the lamp and tuck the end in to secure it. While you can use a packing tape to do it, doing so may tear or damage the wire instead. Using the bubble wrap, provide cushion to the lamp. Simply spread the bubble wrap and place the lamp in the middle. Roll the lamp and tape the edges in. Do this several times to ensure proper cushion.

On the other hand, secure the bottom of the box with several reinforcements of packing tape to ensure that the box will not get torn easily while in transit. You may then put the lamp inside the box. Fill the spaces with crumpled packing paper to make sure the lamp will not shift and get damaged. Seal the box well. And then label it properly so the movers will know that it is fragile and they will be guided how to handle it properly.
