Another important thing that you should take extra care in is the packaging of your items. Make sure that all your boxes are securely tape and have adequate packaging inside. Breakable items especially need to be packed with lots of bubble wrap both on the items themselves as well as the sides of the box. Once everything's inside, fill the gaps with either packing peanuts or crumpled newspaper so that there is adequate padding should the transport become rough. Never use containers (like plastic bags) that might rip during transit.
