Picking a Schedule for Moving Day
Scheduling the moving day may not be one of your biggest concerns in moving.  But this tiny detail can actually make a lot of difference in the moving process.  Here are some pointers you might want to consider when picking a schedule for moving day.
Consider which day of the week you want to move. Some people set their moving schedule on their day-offs to avoid conflicts with work. For most people, weekends are much more convenient. You can call around different moving companies to check if they charge extra for weekend rates.
Once settled with your moving day, consider the best time to move. Movers usually offer their services either in the morning or afternoon. The afternoon spot is usually the second moving job for the day which opens a window of arrival in case the first moving job doesn't end on time. If you are on a busy schedule, pick a morning spot.
Remember to book your reservation at least two weeks prior your target day. If you are planning to move at the last weekend of the month, you may need to do the reservation four weeks in advance. Making your reservations early not only guarantees availability but also gives you the opportunity to pick the best day the best time for your move.
