Packing Your Lamps
Published on Thursday, 16 July 2009

Packing Your Lamps Packing Your Lamps Lamps are one of the items you will have that have are irregularly shaped, and are breakable to boot. Special care must be made when packing these items so as to avoid any damages, as some lamps are quite expensive. The first thing you should do is to have a tall box for your lamps. Many moving companies have special boxes for items like these. Before wrapping the whole lap, be sure to remove the shade and bulb first before wrapping everything with bubble wrap. Each part should be surely taped so that the wrapping doesn't unravel during the trip. You should also bunch the power cord together with some wrapping wire. The box should have adequate cushioning at the bottom and at the sides, so you may also line the sides and bottom with crumpled newspaper or bubble wrap or cardboard. You should also fill in the gaps in the box with packing peanuts or crumpled newspaper for more protection. Don't forget to label the box as fragile and indicate which side must be upright at all times. If you have more than one lamp, you can put them in an upright position side by side, following the same steps above.
