How to Make the Move Smoother for Pets |

Published on Friday, 11 September 2009 Pets are also stressed when you move. Even if it is not yet your moving day, they are sensitive to the impending change. This is, of course, compounded when you get busy and tend to neglect your pets. They begin to feel ignored when routines are not followed. For instance, their eating schedule should not be ignored. They should also receive their exercise according to schedule. Planning is very important especially when moving with pets. You should make a list of the things your pets will need during the move. You'd most likely need food, leash, new tags with addresses, food bowls, paper towels and toys. Rules and regulations about traveling with pets also must be checked so you will not be delayed. If possible, it would even be a good idea to familiarize your pet with your new place by visiting it a couple of times before you actually move. During the actual moving day, you can keep your pet in a small room so you will not be disturbed and you will not risk losing them at this time. Just make sure that you give your pets enough food and a favorite toy to keep them busy. Of course, if you are driving you must only feed your pets once a day. On the other hand, if you are going by air you need to book early. And you also need to know the airline regulations so you can be sure that there won't be a problem on the day of your flight. As soon as you get to your new place, reestablish your routine as soon as you can. This will help them adjust to the new environment sooner. MORE NEWS AND TIPS
