Be Flexible on the Date
 
You cannot be flexible on your destination. So if you want to get lower rates, you should be flexible on the date instead. This way you can go with the person going your way even if he is planning to go there at a different date.
 
Just make sure that when you share a van that your things are boxed and labeled properly. This way you will know your own things and it would easily be loaded and moved during the travel and when it arrives your destination.
