Packing seems like a very trivial task. Sure, just about anyone can pack. Nevertheless, not everyone knows how to do it properly. Fragile items would be safer in smaller boxes. It's also better to pack heavy items in smaller items as well. You should not get very big boxes as they get too heavy to lift. They also have the tendency to be dropped.
 
All boxes need labels so movers will know where to put them. You would not need to lug them around so there are less chances of breaking anything. If you label boxes containing fragile items, movers will be more careful. You can also label which side up boxes are to be carried.
